Collaborating to develop the energy plants of the future

– IMI Climate Control is a global and forward-thinking player in the control and balancing of energy systems. We have collaborated well with IMI and similar players for a good while, but we now want to step up the technology collaboration, says Harald Aakre.

IMI Climate Control is established in large parts of the world and delivers solutions for energy-efficient regulation of heating and cooling systems in buildings. They develop products and solutions in hydronic balancing, pressure control and thermostatics.
– We were curious about Energy Control and the company's solutions. I therefore invited them to Gothenburg so we could get better acquainted, says sales engineer at IMI in Bergen, Are Stensland.

Represents a Tesla moment
While some players remain sceptical of the Energy Control approach, IMI has in turn been curious and welcoming.
– Energy Control represents a Tesla moment for the BMS market (Building Management Systems). No one thinks and acts the way you do. We as a supplier need to take this seriously. In other words, we need to step up and make sure you get the solutions you are asking for, says Stensland, adding:
– We see significant potential for innovation when it comes to demand-controlled management of energy plants, says Stensland.

Always chooses what is best for the customers
Tommy Hagenes at Energy Control says that IMI is one of the players the company works with to improve its expertise in energy plants.
– We are independent and choose the players that at any given time deliver the best solutions. We therefore collaborate well on technology development with several partners. What is important to us is simply that the solutions make the daily lives of our customers and their buildings easier and better, says Hagenes.

Harald Aakre says the visit to IMI was both useful and educational.
– The most important thing from our side is that they are so positive and show a strong willingness to innovate. They listen to us and to how we want the product to develop. We therefore believe that together with IMI we can develop good and forward-thinking solutions for our shared customers, says Aakre.
