Great interest in Proptech breakfast event

Around a hundred technology and property enthusiasts turned up when the trio Energy Control, Entro and Adaptic invited them to a Proptech breakfast event in Bergen.

– The response was far greater than we had dared hope. It shows that a great many people are engaged with what is happening in property technology, especially in relation to energy and building management, says founder and CEO of Energy Control, Tommy Hagenes.

Working with almost everyone
The Proptech Breakfast was organised by Energy Control, Entro and Adaptic. All three companies work to solve the energy challenges that many buildings face today, but with slightly different approaches. The three players collaborate well and have therefore also entered into a formal partnership.
– Together we work with almost all the property players in the country, and combined we have the expertise needed to solve a very large number of the challenges that building owners face related to outdated buildings and high energy prices, says regional manager for Entro in Bergen, Gard Morken, who emphasises:
– We work on the same issues, but with slightly different approaches. So we complement each other very well, says Morken.

Will be prohibited to rent out
The breakfast event was part of and kicked off Innovation Week OPP, which is held in Bergen this week. Innovation Week Opp describes itself as a "celebration of entrepreneurship". At the Proptech breakfast, energy management was on the agenda.
– New requirements are coming related to energy labelling and buildings. This means, among other things, that from 2030 it will not be permitted to rent out buildings with a poorer energy rating than D. That's somewhat pressing, but energy efficiency is the input factor with the greatest potential for lower energy consumption and a better energy rating, said Andreas Grimen from Entro.

Hungry for more
Adaptic works with the overall use and management of energy in commercial buildings. The company digitalises key core processes and makes it easier for landlords to distribute energy costs between tenants and themselves.
– This also makes it easier for landlords to make energy investments in their buildings, says Mathias Pedersen at Adaptic.

Energy Control works with practical energy optimisation. In brief, the company uses sensors to get full control over the current situation and then takes action based on this.
– In a very large number of cases, often overnight, we have seen an energy reduction of over 50 percent, says Tommy Hagenes.

He says the Proptech Breakfast will definitely not be the last.
– This was great fun. We feel that players in Bergen are hungry for more such events, so we will therefore be organising more breakfasts going forward, says Hagenes.
