From wired to wireless. Christopher Melsom (31) chose Energy Control over one of the country's leading ventilation contractors.

– After two minutes with Tommy I was pretty much sold, says Christopher Melsom (31).
He has spent the last couple of years working at GK, one of Scandinavia's leading players in technical contracting.
– I was actually very happy at GK and had no plans to change jobs. But when Tommy got in touch and told me about Energy Control, I realised this was something different. The technology and solutions the company represents are the future, says Melsom.

Has been pursuing Christopher
To say that Christopher was easy to convince is true, but that doesn't mean it didn't take a little time to get him to the table.
– I've heard great things about Christopher and have therefore been trying for a long time to get him in for a coffee chat. He played hard to get, but eventually I managed to arrange a small meeting, laughs Tommy, adding:
– There's no doubt that I've been pursuing Christopher. I'm therefore very proud to have him on our team.
A brief chat was all it took. After a few more meetings the contract was signed, and on 2 March Christopher was in place at Energy Control.
– It's been an intense start with lots of new systems to get up to speed on. But I'm looking forward to learning more about wireless technology going forward. It's going to be an exciting journey to be part of, says Melsom.

Exciting future
Melsom trained as an automation engineer and has worked for several of the leading companies in Bergen in this field, as well as spending two years offshore working as an ROV pilot.
– It was exciting, but I wanted to come back on shore, says Melsom.
At Energy Control, Melsom will be a project manager. This means he will follow projects from engineering and planning through to installation and operations. After only a few days on the job he is no less convinced.
– What has perhaps surprised me most is how quickly everything moves. Everything from engineering to installation and operations is done in a very short time. Even though it was mentioned in the interview, it surprised me that it actually was done so fast, says Melsom.
He has therefore become even more convinced that the technology his new employer represents is the future.
– Not only is it faster, it's also much cheaper. I'm therefore convinced that this is the future for controlling ventilation and indoor climate, but also heating and cooling in buildings, says Melsom.

An important resource
Tommy says that Christopher's experience and track record make him a great asset to Energy Control.
– He has experience with technical systems that means he can hit the ground running. Even though what we do represents a new approach, he knows how the technology and buildings work. He is therefore an important resource for us. Not only does he bring expertise, he also gives us increased capacity, which we're going to need going forward. We're therefore very glad to have Christopher on the team, says Tommy.
