An energetic bunch. At Energy Control, it's not just fast-paced at work – there's also plenty of speed and fun in leisure time.

Petter «Verstappen» Marthinussen keeps things under control so the pit stops come right on schedule.
– In the last couple of weeks I've been go-karting and playing padel with my colleagues. We have a really great time together – both at work and in our free time, smiles Caroline Hope.
Building the team
Together with colleagues, she recently visited Bergen Gokart at Straume. Team Energy Control is one of several teams taking part in this year's go-kart cup, where different companies compete against each other and themselves. Team captain for Energy Control is Petter «Verstappen» Marthinussen.
– A few laps in the go-kart, where we race against other companies in Bergen, is not only a lot of fun – it also builds the team, smiles Marthinussen.
He has clearly had a few laps around the track before and clocks in easily the best lap time among Energy Control's employees.
– We might have cheated a little, laughs Marthinussen in true Ingrid Espelid spirit.

About well-being
What actually builds a good, tight-knit team? A team that not only has fun at work, but also performs well. These are questions that matter to Energy Control founder Tommy Hagenes.
– Energy Control should be a place where it's truly fun to work. I'm convinced that people who have fun together also perform well together. A culture of openness at work, and doing things together outside of working hours, is therefore important to us, says Hagenes.

Go-karts and padel are examples of activities that contribute to just that. So are social events like dinner with all employees, as well as the weekly Friday lunch where all team members gather.
– Here we share everything happening in the company. It could be news from the development front, new hires, or project status updates. This is about wanting to be open and transparent about everything going on in the company. This way we include all of the company's employees, says Hagenes.
Easy to get to know people
Christopher Melsom is the company's newest hire. He says he was included in social activities even before he started working at Energy Control.
– I joined social events before I even started. Activities outside work hours, like go-karts and padel, make it really easy to get to know colleagues. Already after just a few weeks I feel like I know the people in the company well, says Melsom.
