EC GO just got even better

Our building control app, EC GO, has been through a major overhaul and upgrade. Everything is better, nicer and easier to use.

UPDATED: EC GO has had major upgrades. Henriette Schjelderup with Tommy Hagenes.

Our building control app, EC GO, has been through a major overhaul and upgrade. Everything is better, nicer and easier to use.

"Observant users of the app will probably notice that the navigation bar and a number of subpages have a completely new look. In the end, it's all about making the app better and easier to use," says Henriette Schjelderup, product manager for EC GO at Energy Control.

A complete energy center
But it's not just the outside that has changed. A number of pages have a new design and more functionality. The biggest changes are probably on the Energy Center page.
"A lot has happened here. You now get a full overview and visualization of a range of components," says Schjelderup.
The components now available in the app are pump, electric boiler, energy valve, pressure sensor and temperature sensor. Together they give a quick overview of how the energy center is working.
"Every component has its own icon showing its live status. For more detailed information on the different measurements and readings over time, you can simply tap into each component," says Henriette.

Gone pro
Tommy Hagenes, CEO of Energy Control, praises the work that has gone into the app.
"The app has become much more professional. It looks better, and it also has more features and is easier to use. This is a big step up for the EC GO app," says Hagenes.
The energy center module is now a complete module with full functionality.
"The module was developed in close collaboration with several of our customers and partners. The two renovation projects at Castbergkvartalet and Eldoradogården have been especially important. That's why Vestenfjeldske Eiendom has been a key technology partner in developing the energy center module," says Hagenes.

EASIER USER ACCESS: You can now easily add temporary users in the app.

‍Add users with temporary access
As well as the Energy Center, the Radon page and the Users and permissions page have been fully redesigned in line with the new visual identity.
"The modules have been rebuilt based on feedback from users. We've done our best to tackle the most important wishes and pain points people have reported," says Henriette.
Basically, it's about making things simpler and clearer. For example, you can now add new users with temporary access. Several people have asked for this. It lets property owners and operations staff give other specialists access so they can get to know the building. One of the people who asked for it is Martin Sæther from Statens vegvesen.
"We have many buildings and many people who use the EC GO app temporarily. Being able to easily manage access for temporary users is a very important upgrade for us," says Sæther.

A brand new module
The goal of EC GO is to give users the data that matters and to make building information as accessible and clear as possible. With this in mind, the update also introduces a brand new module.
"The new Building Log module works like a timeline where important events in the building are stamped with what happened and when. This gives property owners and operations staff a quick overview of what has happened in the building. We think this will be an important module for many," says Schjelderup.

The app now also supports Swedish and English, and you can change the Delta-T setpoint on energy valves.
Even though a lot has happened, Henriette stresses that the app will keep evolving.
"We've taken many steps in the right direction, but the app is a living organism that keeps evolving. So there will always be small improvements and updates. The goal is to make the user experience and the value for users as great as possible," says Schjelderup.
